2025 PSA Summer Trek: July 20-27

Registration for the 2025 trek opens in January

Join us for our Annual PSA Summer Trek!

Coming back to Philmont on trek is a great way to get back to you roots and learn about new things happening at the ranch and in beautiful Cimarron, NM.

This summer trek is the perfect weeklong getaway if you are looking to return to Philmont Scout Ranch and get into the beautiful backcountry this summer. This trek is open to all PSA members, we encourage you to invite along any trek eligible family members to share this experience with and soak in the splendors of Philmont.

Trek Details:

Eligibility & Fitness:

The trek eligibility requirements are as follows:

Be physically and mentally fit.

Be a member of the PSA or a trek-eligible family member; Spouse, child or stepchild, sibling, parent, grandparent, grandchild, niece, nephew or in-law of a PSA member.

Be a member of the BSA (BSA membership # required*)

Bring a current completed Philmont Medical Form , parts A, B, and C.

Be 14 years old OR completed 8th grade and be at least 13 years of age prior to participation.

Please note:

The BSA Membership requirement. You should provide your membership number when you register. If you’re not a member of the BSA, you will have only 30 days to obtain membership and provide the PSA with your number. Your trek registration will be automatically removed if you cannot provide BSA membership within 30 days.

Itinerary Planning:

As always, your crew will be free to design its own itinerary, subject to Philmont’s itinerary planning guidelines. By registering early, you can form your own crew or join the crew you want and be a part of the itinerary planning fun. A crew will consist of up to 12 persons and open spaces in crews will be available to any registrant until the crew is filled. If you have a group with which you want to trek, get them to sign up early so there will be space for all of you in the same crew.

Trek Schedule:

Trek Dates: July 20- July 27, 2025

Sunday July 20: 8am report to the Welcome Center and meet Rangers.

Monday July 21: Hit the trail.

Saturday July 26: Come off the trail.

Sunday July 27: Depart Philmont.

Registration Checklist:

*Send your check to Philmont Scout Ranch with memo “721-PSA 2025”

*Wait for confirmation email 

Payments & Refunds:

Payment is made directly to The Philmont Scout Ranch.

Philmont’s refund policy: ALL FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. THEY CANNOT BE APPLIED TO FUTURE PSA TREKS OR EVENTS. Emergency situations will be handled by Philmont on an individual basis.

Please Note: The PSA reserves the right to deny or revoke registration where appropriate.
